SPECTACLES LENS FUND

Group of friends interacting with Spectacles.

Have a use case in mind that would be perfect for Spectacles? Is the use case valuable enough to build a business around? If you’re part of a team who is excited to go all-in on building for the future of AR, we invite you to apply to the Spectacles Lens Fund!

What types of use cases we’re looking for:

  • Everyday Utility: Provide contextual help with daily tasks, sports, travel, and more

  • Experiential Learning: Teach a new skill, language, or instrument

  • Creative Tools: Help people unleash their creativity in 3D space

  • Communication: Enable new ways for people to connect and express themselves

  • AI-Powered Experiences: Leverage AI to create smarter and more interactive Lenses

  • Shared / Social Experiences: Bring people together and create shared moments

Use cases we’re NOT looking for:

  • One-off activations

  • Video games (please build a proof of concept and reach out to our partnerships team)

Benefits to funded teams:

  • Funding to accelerate your Spectacles Lens development journey

  • Direct access to the Spectacles team for technical and user research support

  • Promotion of your Lens by Snap

  • Opportunities to get early access to future Spectacles hardware

  • Opportunities to get connected to other developers in the Spectacles community

Timeline:

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis starting September 18, 2024. We will reach out to teams who we believe may be a good fit for funding for a follow up conversation with the Spectacles team. Funding decisions will be made on a rolling basis starting November 1, 2024.
